Faux Wood Blinds
What are Faux Wood Blinds

Faux wood blinds are an attractive and practical alternative to real wood blinds. Constructed from durable PVC or composite materials, these blinds offer the elegant appearance of natural wood while being more resistant to moisture, warping, and fading. Ideal for any room, faux wood blinds are especially well-suited for kitchens, bathrooms, and other high-humidity areas.

Cordless Faux Wood Blinds

Cordless faux wood blinds offer a clean, uncluttered look and are designed for ease of use and safety. With no cords to tangle or pose a risk to children and pets, these blinds can be easily adjusted by lifting or lowering the bottom rail, providing a seamless way to control light and privacy.

Corded Faux Wood Blinds

Corded faux wood blinds provide a timeless, classic appearance with a cord system that allows you to tilt the slats and raise or lower the blinds to your preferred position. This traditional option ensures precise light control and can be particularly convenient for windows that are less accessible or for users who prefer the corded operation.

Key Features
  • Durability: Faux wood blinds are made from composite materials like PVC or MDF, which are resistant to warping, cracking, or fading, making them ideal for high-humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens.

  • Water and Moisture Resistant: Unlike real wood, faux wood blinds are highly resistant to moisture, preventing them from swelling or bending in damp conditions.

  • Realistic Appearance: Faux wood blinds are designed to mimic the look of real wood, with a wood-like texture and finish that can be difficult to distinguish from genuine wood blinds.

  • Affordable: Faux wood blinds are a cost-effective alternative to wood blinds, offering the same stylish look at a lower price point.

  • Low Maintenance: Faux wood blinds are easy to clean and maintain, requiring only occasional dusting or wiping with a damp cloth, unlike real wood blinds that may need more care.

  • Variety of Colors and Finishes: Faux wood blinds are available in a range of colors, finishes, and textures, allowing you to choose a style that complements your interior decor.

  • UV Resistant: Many faux wood blinds are treated to be UV resistant, helping to prevent discoloration and fading due to sun exposure, making them a great choice for rooms with large windows.

  • Light Control: Like traditional wood blinds, faux wood blinds offer excellent light control, allowing you to adjust the slats to let in as much or as little light as desired.

  • Energy Efficiency: Faux wood blinds provide insulation by blocking drafts, helping to improve the energy efficiency of your home by keeping rooms cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

  • Child and Pet Safe: Faux wood blinds are often available in cordless or motorized options, making them safer for households with children and pets.

Low Maintenance

Faux wood blinds are renowned for their ease of maintenance. They are resistant to moisture, making them suitable for high-humidity environments such as bathrooms and kitchens. Regular cleaning involves simply dusting with a soft cloth, vacuuming with a brush attachment, or wiping down with a damp cloth and mild detergent. This routine upkeep helps preserve their appearance and functionality over time.

Color Options

Faux wood blinds are available in a wide range of colors and finishes to complement any décor style. Popular options include various shades of white, cream, beige, and brown, as well as wood grain finishes that mimic the look of natural wood. These color choices allow you to customize your blinds to match the aesthetics of your space, whether you prefer a classic, contemporary, or rustic look.

  • What is the difference between custom zebra blinds and custom zebra shades?
Zebra blinds and zebra shades are essentially identical products. Unlike traditional Roller Shades, they feature a distinctive design with alternating horizontal bands of sheer and solid fabric.
  • How do custom zebra shades work?
These window treatments consist of two fabric layers with alternating sheer and opaque bands. With a simple adjustment, the sheer bands align to allow natural light in while still preserving privacy.
  • What are other names used for zebra shades?
Custom zebra shades are also known as zebra blinds, illusion shades, dual shades, transitional shades, layered shades, vision shades, banded shades, day and night shades, or striped shades.
  • What are custom zebra blinds and shades made of?
Custom zebra shades are made with a single piece of fabric that has alternating bands of translucent and solid fabric for a striped appearance.
  • Can custom zebra blinds and zebra shades be motorized?
Yes, we recommend getting them motorized to the ease of use and ability to be controlled remotely.
  • Can zebra blinds and shades be installed on any window size or shape?
Custom Zebra shades are highly adaptable and can be tailored to accommodate various window sizes and shapes. Their lightweight design makes them especially effective for large windows, as they are easy to operate. For smaller or uniquely shaped windows, like circular or triangular ones, it’s advisable to consult with a window treatment specialist to ensure an optimal fit and functionality.
  • Are custom zebra blinds and shades in style?
Whether zebra shades are stylish for your home is a matter of personal opinion and varies depending on whom you ask. While interior designers might suggest avoiding them because of their unique design, guests may find their modern and trendy appearance appealing. Additionally, consider the space you want to cover. Zebra shades can be eye-catching and might seem too busy, especially in rooms with numerous windows. In such instances, choosing a different type of shade could provide a more subtle and cohesive look. You may refer to Roller Shades.

We find custom blinds Melbourne can be turned around very quickly but it is best to speak to our team. Please be aware that if we have to order fabrics, there is a small chance they may be backordered. Even with careful planning, materials that appear available at the time of selection can sometimes become backordered by the time we cut the fabric. It may take up to a week or more to learn about a backorder, especially with popular colors. If this happens, we will provide temporary shades or offer alternative fabrics from the same or a different catalog. While we work closely with trusted suppliers, we cannot control their inventory, so availability cannot be guaranteed. Backorders are rare, occurring in approximately 3% of our orders. To avoid potential delays, we recommend selecting at least two fabric options rather than just one. This will allow us to quickly switch to an alternative if your first choice is unavailable.
